Wald Collective is a team of skilled craftspeople with a wealth of experience in the construction industry.
We specialise in restoring period spaces with sensitivity to their original character, while also designing and building new environments that harmonise with the landscape around them.
Alongside our building work, we create bespoke interior carpentry and one-off fine furniture pieces, crafted with care and precision.

Meet The Team

Andrew Latham
Founder
From a young age, Andrew developed an interest in building work, inspired by his father's profession as a builder. He seized every opportunity to accompany his father to work, where he was often involved in the restoration of old houses. This early exposure ignited Andrew's passion for period restoration. Over the years, working alongside his father, Andrew acquired the essential building skills that he continues to utilise today.
At the age of 19, when considering his further education, Andrew chose to specialise in carpentry and fine furniture making, earning a scholarship to West Dean College. Following his studies, he gained experience working for various furniture makers before deciding to become self-employed after Will's father offered him workshop space.
Andrew and Will began to work together more and more. On starting the business, Andrew said they decided to ‘draw on our collective experience and resources, we decided it was time to launch Wald.’

William Durham
Founder
Will had an early start in the restoration and timber framing world and has spent the last 16 years in the industry. He didn’t realise how integral this work was to his life, whilst growing up but now says ‘when you’re older, you see how important sustaining or extending a building’s life is. We’re preserving culture and architecture for future generations to discover and repair’.
Will is excited to see what Wald has to offer in the future as the company continues to work with skilled individuals with a like-minded ethos.

Edward Skinner
Team member
In 2024, Ed finally took the plunge to change careers after 10 years working in the hospitality industry. He was interested in the construction industry because of the diversity of the jobs and the people.
Since moving into period restoration, Ed has decided to complete some trowel qualifications to further his career but has already gained a name for being useful with a shovel!
Ed enjoys all different aspects of the business and has said about Wald that ‘where some jobs you have different teams going in, Wald cover all areas because of varied skill sets and years of experience.

Max Swann
Team Member
Max's career in the building trade started early, he began working alongside his Dad on-site during weekends and holidays. He went on to complete a two-year apprenticeship in roofing and brickwork, finishing with a qualification from Carter' Academy.
Roofing is Max's speciality and he thrives on the satisfaction that comes from delivering quality work and building great relationships with clients. For Max, the best part about being part of Wald is working with a team of highly-skilled and like-minded tradesmen who share his passion for craftsmanship.
